LeagueApps Alternative for Cheer Programs, Built Only for Cheer.

LeagueApps signs athletes up and takes the money, across every youth sport there is. What it has no opinion about is a scored tryout, a level check or a comp deadline. Cheerleaders runs that half of a cheer season, and it does not touch your registration.

Short answer: LeagueApps is a youth sports registration and payments platform for leagues and clubs, with no monthly subscription and a fee taken as a percentage of each online payment. Cheerleaders is a cheer-only team platform (tryout score sheets, level and stunt tracking, competition season, uniform marketplace) priced flat from $29 a month per team. They overlap on rosters, schedules and parent messaging, and nowhere else. If your problem is collecting registration money, keep LeagueApps. If your problem is the competitive season, that is the gap Cheerleaders fills.

02 What it costs

No subscription, a cut of every registration.

LeagueApps states its model plainly: no subscription fees, no contract lock-ins, a small percentage taken from each online payment, nothing charged on payments collected offline, a one-time fee to get set up, and optional add-ons billed annually. Volume discounts exist for larger organizations and there are discounted rates for nonprofits. What the site does not print is the percentage itself, and that is the number that decides whether this model is cheap or expensive for you. Third-party reviews commonly describe the all-in cost as landing near 5 percent of what you collect, so treat that as a reported figure and get it in writing.

Plan / model Price Basis Notes
LeagueApps platform $0 / mo No subscription Fee taken from each online payment instead
LeagueApps transaction fee % per online payment Per transaction Exact rate not published; often reported near 5%
LeagueApps offline payments No platform fee Per transaction Cash and check collected outside the platform
LeagueApps setup One-time fee Onboarding Support included afterward
Cheerleaders Team $29 / mo Per team One team, all cheer tools
Cheerleaders Program $79 / mo Per program Multiple teams under one program
Cheerleaders All-Star Gym $199 / mo Per gym Whole gym, unlimited teams

Model confirmed on leagueapps.com in July 2026; the percentage and setup fee are quote-based, and the ~5% figure is reported by third-party review sites rather than published by LeagueApps.

The math that matters: a percentage model is generous when you are small and punishing when you are not. A rec cheer squad collecting $8,000 a season pays a few hundred dollars. An all-star gym collecting $400,000 in tuition and comp fees through the same pipe pays five figures. Many programs cover it by adding a processing fee at checkout, which is common but shows up on the parent's invoice. Run your own annual number before you assume "no subscription" means cheap.

03 Where LeagueApps wins

We do not collect money and we do not run a league. If the list below is your actual problem, LeagueApps is a better purchase than we are, and we would rather say so.

Registration and money

Open registration, payment plans, refunds, discount codes and waivers signed at signup. Cheerleaders collects nothing, so if the checkout is the pain, this is the answer.

Multi-sport organizations

Youth football with a cheer program attached, or a parks department running six sports, gets one signup system for all of it. We only do cheer, on purpose.

Public site and league ops

A public website, game and field scheduling, standings and league-wide communication. We have no website builder and no game scheduler.

04 Where Cheerleaders wins

Registration ends in August. The season does not.

Tryouts

Scored tryouts that hold up

Weighted cheer tryout score sheets, judges scoring independently, totals ranked live and defensible line by line.

Levels

Know who is ready

Track tumbling and stunt progressions against cheer level requirements instead of asking three coaches.

Comps

Competition season handled

A cheer competition schedule with registration deadlines, packing lists, routine timing and results.

Budget

Uniforms back into budget

Resell outgrown sets in the cheer uniforms marketplace instead of a parent Facebook group.

05 Who should switch

Add Cheerleaders if:

  • Your cheer teams are the part the league platform has no answer for.
  • Tryouts are scored on paper and totaled with a calculator at 9pm.
  • Nobody can tell you who has a standing back handspring without asking a coach.
  • Comp registration deadlines live in somebody's phone notes.
  • Outgrown uniforms sit in a closet instead of turning back into program money.

Stay on LeagueApps if:

  • Online registration and collecting money are why you bought software.
  • You run several sports and want one signup flow for all of them.
  • You need a public site, waivers and payment plans in one place.
  • Your program is small enough that a percentage fee costs less than a license.

To be clear about the choice: we are not asking you to move registration. We are asking why placement, levels and comp season still live in a spreadsheet.

06 Running both

There is no migration to plan.

Step 1

Keep signup where it is

Families register and pay through LeagueApps exactly as they do now. Nothing about your checkout, waivers or payment plans changes.

Step 2

Build the cheer roster once

Add the athletes who made teams into cheer rosters with levels, uniform sizes and contacts. That takes an afternoon, once a year.

Step 3

Run the season in one place

Tryout scoring, attendance, practice plans, skill checks and comp season live together, so nobody rebuilds a spreadsheet in October.

07 Questions coaches ask

What is the best LeagueApps alternative for cheer?

It depends which half is failing. For registration and payments, compare LeagueApps against another youth sports registration platform. For the competitive cheer season, Cheerleaders is the cheer-only alternative, and it is additive: keep signup where it is and move tryouts, levels and comps over.

How much does LeagueApps cost?

There is no monthly subscription. LeagueApps takes a percentage of each online payment, charges nothing on offline payments, and adds a one-time setup fee plus optional annual add-ons. The exact percentage is quote-based and often reported near 5 percent. Nonprofit and volume discounts exist.

Is LeagueApps good for cheerleading?

It is good at what cheer shares with every youth sport: registration, payments, waivers, schedules and messaging. It has no tryout scoring, no USASF level or stunt tracking, no competition-season workflow and no uniform marketplace, so competitive programs run those parts outside it.

Does LeagueApps charge a transaction fee?

Yes, that is the business model: a percentage of each online payment instead of a license fee. Offline payments carry no platform fee. Because cost scales with money collected, a large gym can pay far more per year than it would for flat-rate software, while a small squad pays very little.

Can I use Cheerleaders alongside LeagueApps?

Yes, and that is the normal setup. LeagueApps keeps registration and money. Cheerleaders takes rosters, attendance, tryout scoring, practice plans, level tracking and comp season. Nothing about billing overlaps, so there is no migration and no double charging.

Is a percentage fee cheaper than a monthly subscription?

Only up to a point. Multiply your annual online collections by the quoted rate and compare that to a flat annual license. Small rec programs usually come out ahead on a percentage. Gyms collecting six figures in tuition and comp fees usually do not, unless they pass the fee to families at checkout.
