When should we start the college cheer recruiting process?
Many families start filming skills in the sophomore or junior year of high school, so coaches can follow progress before tryouts. Each program sets its own tryout dates, so check the schools you like early.
Do NCAA recruiting rules apply to cheer?
Cheer is not an NCAA sport, so NCAA recruiting calendars and contact periods do not govern it. Each college spirit program sets its own tryout process and timeline.
What do college coaches want to see on video?
Clean standing and running tumbling, stunts from the athlete’s position, jumps, and a short piece of dance or a cheer that shows motions and voice. Short clips, good light, whole body in frame.
Who can see our athlete’s profile?
Only college coaches verified with a college .edu email. The profile is not public, not in search and cannot be booked or invited to any gig.
